One of my all time favorite stations has been HCJB “The Voice of the Andes.”
HCJB aired its first program from Quito, Ecuador on Dec 25th, 1931. Radio Station HCJB was the first missionary radio station in the world, as well as the first radio station in Ecuador with daily programs. My hobby , Amateur Radio Operator, owes HCJB’s founder, Clarence Jones , a huge round of applause, because of innovative development of antennas that could handle high power and high altitudes.

You can still hear some of the memorable broadcasts, the signature sound of The Beacon and more at today's site. There are also some great photos.

Johnny Cash Video
Near the end of his life, Johnny Cash made an inspirational video, performing 'Hurt', a song originally written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The images, lyrics and Cash's voice, made vulnerable through his infirmity, all work together to create this powerful and profound video, which contains the gospel message. See the video here.
