We are located on the beautiful Central Coast of California; approximately 15 miles east of Vandenberg Air Force Base. Orcutt Christian is the home church for many of the service personnel attached to this outstanding and historic Air Force Base.

Orcutt is a suburb of Santa Maria. We are located approximately half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and half way between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. The original name for Santa Maria had been Central City. The Post Office had it changed in the 1930's, because there was already a Central City, Illinois.

Santa Maria enjoys a mild smog-free climate with temperatures in the 70’s year round. Located just 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, ocean breezes cool the valley in the summer and warm it in the winter. Average yearly rainfall is 13 inches.

Population is approximately 100,000 in the City of Santa Maria, including the unincorporated area or "Orcutt."

Santa Maria is famous for its "Santa Maria Style Barbecue" which is top sirloin of beef cooked over chunks of locally grown red oak wood. The area is also fast becoming known for its vineyards and award-winning wines.

For those fortunate enough to relocate to this peaceful valley, they will find friendly neighbors, a strong community spirit, a growing business sector and a moderate cost of living and housing compared with Los Angles, San Francisco and San Diego. Santa Maria is designated as "AN ALL AMERICA CITY."
